“Wow! Riley’s Retreat is that amazing blend of looking like it belongs in a magazine and yet feeling super comfortable and welcoming. Well stocked, comfortable beds and views you will be missing long after you leave. Hiked and swam and found a great store Calabesh Market for fresh seafood and meat, to cook at home. Perfect vacation, thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us!” – Suzanne | Airbnb
Riley’s is a bright and beautiful, newly updated villa that retains all the charm of Old St. John with ornate stonework and custom mahogany details, while also providing the modern conveniences you would expect from a vacation home. Enjoy morning coffee on the breezy decks, tropical cocktails by the pool in the afternoon. If you’re lucky, the resident iguanas will join you for a starfruit snack in the groves surrounding the property. A beautiful sunset over the isles awaits every night, followed by a canopy of a million stars to gaze.

You can be greeted at the docks and escorted to the house or we can meet you at the house, give you a brief tour and get you settled in. We are incredibly environmentally conscious, and we ask that our guests are as well. While we do have solar panels, they do not generate enough energy to power the entire villa. Energy per kilowatt-hour costs about 6 times more on St. John than it does stateside. Be aware of AC and light use. Please turn all lights off when leaving. The property is perfectly located for the best breezes and the stone structure and ceiling fans keep the living areas relatively cool without the use of AC. Be conscious of your use and always turn the units off when leaving. Water is also incredibly precious in this tropical paradise. The mountainous terrain isn’t exactly conducive for public water systems so we rely on rainwater to fill cisterns that supply all water to the property. Be conservative with shower times, do not leave taps running, and use the dishwasher instead of handwashing! Water otherwise must be delivered by the truckload and is also incredibly expensive. Help us do our part and go green, to conserve St. John’s natural beauty and wildlife for years to come.
